I’m an audio-visual producer working across music production, sound design, audio post-production, video, and photography. I’ve been working professionally for over 20 years, collaborating with artists, brands, studios, and cultural organisations in New Zealand and internationally.

I work both remotely with clients worldwide and from my studio in New Zealand, delivering reliable, high-quality creative work to brief, deadline, and platform.

About The Beths' Metal (Nik Brinkman Remix)

“We listened to Nik’s remix together after a band practice, and it was a sudden and unexpected joy,” the band described. “It’s listening to our song with so much baggage removed from writing and recording it, from playing it one way a couple hundred times, from trying to be the musicians we wish we were. We let go of our songs over and over again in making recordings and releasing them, and this time it was fun.”

ANTI-RECORDS

I’ve spent over two decades producing music for myself and other artists, alongside commercial and commissioned work. In 2012, I signed a worldwide publishing deal with Sony/ATV and Page1 Management, and soon after had a No.1 single on New Zealand radio with Ladyhawke — a moment that cemented my path into pop music composition, songwriting, and professional production.

Since then, I’ve worked across a range of artist projects including Junica, Over The Atlantic (Carpark Records), Physical, Psychic Powers, and Bright Music. I’ve toured extensively throughout New Zealand, North America, the UK, and Europe, performing and collaborating alongside artists such as Beach House, New Order, Ladyhawke, The Naked and Famous, Foster The People, Soko, and Yumi Zouma. That time on the road deeply shaped how I understand songs, sound, pacing, and emotional impact — lessons I carry directly into my production work today.

Alongside artist releases, I also produce music for companies and platforms, including ongoing composition and production work for Les Mills, creating polished, commercial-ready tracks to brief and deadline for a global audience.

In parallel with my music practice, I also work as a visual producer, creating story-driven video content for artists, organisations, and brands. My visual work is closely informed by my background in music — rhythm, atmosphere, and emotional pacing sit at the centre of how I approach video — and I often work on projects where sound and image are developed together as a cohesive whole.

If you’re looking to hire a producer, collaborate on music, commission a remix, or work with someone who can shape both sound and image, I’d love to hear from you.
